The Birth Of The Project

It took two years of endeavour to bring this work to completion. Two years of gathering pens together, convincing collectors to lend their pieces to be photographed, trips to Japan and London, creating shots using a special technique that meant it was possible to take only four photos a day, acrobatic timing… As instigator of the project, and producer and editor of the book, Christophe Larquemin has successfully brought together a highly skilled team: an artistic director in charge of page layouts, Caroline Shute; a photographer in France, Jean Marc Péchart; another photographer in Japan; an English translator; a calligrapher; a customer collector; the curator of the Dunhill museum, Peter Tilley; and Serge Nallot for editorial corrections.
