It was in 1924 that the brand skyrocketed by creating the ""Meisterstück"", meaning ""masterpiece"" in German. The pen with its timeless design was fascinating. It revolutionised the pen industry and all nibs were engraved with 4 810, Mont Blanc's height as measured at the time. The mythical pen was raised to the status of work of art and became part of the permanent collection at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). In 1935, the brand even went as far as offering its inflation- hit customers, reluctant to spend their money, a lifetime guarantee, so sure was it of the flawless quality of its writing instruments. The 1980s marked the pinnacle of the model, with even more precious versions. The most famous pen in the Meisterstück collection is the solid gold ""149"" version used by James Bond to kill the villain played by Christopher Lee. It reached the height of luxury with its ""Meisterstück Solitaire Royal"" version, set with 4 810 diamonds individually cut with 35 facets, the value of which was close to 125 000 dollars and earned it a place in the Guinness Book of Records as…
