Urushi, the most precious and rarest of natural lacquers, covers this new masterpiece in sobriety and elegance, the black lacquer Yukari Royale. The Urushi used by Namiki comes exclusively from ""lacquer trees"", the trunk of which is cut when they reach the age of 10, before replacing them with new shoots. Its qualities are just as exceptional as they are mysterious: lacquered objects dating back to antiquity were recently found in Korea in all their original splendour, after spending 300 years submerged in a shipwreck. By covering its ebonite barrel with several layers of Urushi, patiently allowed to dry before sanding down, Namiki is perpetuating a thousand-year-old artistic legacy and has gained its place among the aristocracy of precious objects. Connoisseurs will discover Mount Fuji on the 18-carat yellow gold nib. The Yukari Royale is also available in vermilion. Recommended retail price: 1,450 euros
